Spaulding's Approach to Pelvic Health

Our team of clinicians tailors each treatment plan to an individual’s needs and concerns. Your pelvic health therapist will review your medical and surgical history and diagnostic tests from other providers and perform a thorough evaluation to develop a customized plan to meet your goals.

Treatment for pelvic health conditions may include a combination of exercise for strengthening, mobility, posture, and movement quality, manual therapy, myofascial release, relaxation strategies, education specific to your condition, lifestyle modifications, biofeedback, and the development of an at-home program. Our therapists are here to guide you on your path to healing.

Wear something comfortable that you can move around in.

Where are you located, and how do I find your clinic?

101 Plain Street - Providence: We are located on the 5th floor of the Bay Tower Medical Building at 101 Plain St. in Providence. We are in the Women & Infants Urogynecology office. There is a parking lot for the building so you do not have to pay for parking.

1351 South County Trail - East Greenwich: We are located within the Greenwich Medical Center Office Park. When you enter from South County Trail, continue straight to the second building on your right. When you enter the building, we are on the first floor immediately to the right upon entering.

111 Brewster Street - Pawtucket: We are located on the lower level of the Primary Care Center. We are the building beside the old Memorial Hospital, and we share a parking lot with the hospital. Look for the American Flagpole. Go through the sliding glass door, where security is located. Take the stairs or elevator on the right down to the lower level.

49 South County Commons Way: If you drive into South County Commons plaza towards the rotary (Pasquale's Pizzeria/ Taj Indian Restaurant), we are located upstairs on the second floor. Use the passageway between Pasquales and Taj to find our entrance and take the stairs/elevator up to the second floor to the Women& Infants suite. There is a large parking lot behind Pasquale's Pizzeria. All parking is free.

What insurance do you take?

We take most insurances including Medicare, Medicaid, and Workers’ Compensation. We verify your insurance information before you come in for your appointment.

What do I need to bring on the first day?

When you come in for your first appointment, please bring your physician referral, if you have one, your insurance card, photo ID, and any other additional records that you may want us to see.

How does the referral process work?

In order to receive therapy, we require an order from your physician. We take orders or scripts by fax, walk-ins, and through Epic, our medical record system. Once we receive your information, we will set you up with the first available appointment and verify your insurance.

Do you have bilingual staff or translation services?

We have bilingual administration support staff in our Providence and Pawtucket locations. Translation services are available at all locations, either in person or via telephone/video service.

Do you allow visitors to come with me to my appointments?

Although we encourage families to be involved in therapy sessions, we must abide by the hospital’s visitor policy, which has been more restrictive due to COVID-19. If physical assistance is required for you to get into the office, typically, we can accommodate visitors.

How long are appointments typically?

Our appointments typically last one hour, depending on your individual needs.

When should I arrive for my appointment?

We recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes before your initial evaluation to complete the registration and medical history intake forms. We recommend you arrive at least 5 minutes early to each follow-up appointment.

Is an internal pelvic floor muscle exam required?

An internal pelvic floor muscle examination is a helpful tool for you and your therapist to determine the source of your pain or symptoms. Internal pelvic floor muscle examinations and treatments are always performed with ongoing consent. However, these exams are not a requirement, and there are many alternatives that you can discuss with your therapist to ensure that you have the best experience possible.

What Our Patients Say

Spaulding Pelvic Health Rehabilitation at Care New England (4)

From my very first experience with Deb, one of the receptionists, to Felicia, over the phone to meeting Lisa Charron, the provider, I was impressed with the care of each of these individuals. They were all very knowledgeable and professional. They left me with a sense of real confidentiality. Lisa, I felt, is exceptionally good at her job. She knows what she's doing and has the people skills to put people in, you know, being relaxed and competent in her, in a very compromising appointment. I'm very, very grateful for her professionalism and her sense of really caring professionally.

Patient from Kent Hospital

As a patient of Dr. Danielle Moreau, I am pleased to report that she is a consummate professional of the highest caliber. Dr. Moreau is organized, extremely competent, and encouraging in her treatment and advice. It was easy to ask her questions and to obtain clear, valid, and objective answers. I am very pleased with my progress, which is in no small measure because Dr. Moreau did an excellent job in all ways.

Patient from East Greenwich Office

Being in your mid-twenties (or any age) and waking up one morning to find that your body isn’t acting as it normally has for the past two-plus decades is a terrifying experience. Throughout this experience, Kendra has been the one constant that has gotten me through the worst times. If it weren’t for her support, both through physical therapy as well as emotionally, I would never have been able to overcome the obstacles I have and be in the place I am today. I am extremely grateful to have Kendra as my physical therapist and look forward to continuing working with her!
